Daniel 12

  • Having a Bible understanding concerning the the Second Coming of Jesus and end time events has been a strong element for Adventist believers. Seventh-day Adventists have always had a key interest in the Biblical Book of Daniel.   Daniel 12 opens with Michael (Jesus our High Priest) standing up and there being a Time of Trouble such as never was.  Daniel 12 is dealing with the very Time of the End which according to the passage contains three timelines (Time, Times and Half a Time (1,260 days), 1,290 days and 1,335 days) which have thrown Bible Students off for centuries including Pastor D. Lynn Bryson when he first discovered this prophecy some forty years ago.  An understanding of the Hebrew and Aramaic languages used in the Book of Daniel and the structure of the passage are key to having an understanding of this passage and especially  connected with the time of history we find ourselves within. Over the years of Pastor Bryson’s study regarding Daniel 12 he and other Bible students have come to see this closing prophecy of Daniel not as a passage for believers to have knowledge when the Lord will return in the Second Coming but as a guide map with which to understand our relationship to the Second Coming once the Abomination that Causes Desolation (the Sunday Law) begins and our final arrival at the return of Christ. This website is to make some understandings he has come to in the past ten or more years available and a place where you the reader can download his exegetical sermon study on Daniel 12.

Second Coming of Jesus

  • Themes like the Second Coming of Jesus, Time of Trouble, Jesus our High Priest, the Book of Daniel chapters 2, 7, 8, 9,11 and 12, the Book of Revelation, Seal of God, the Sabbath, Mark of the Beast, the Resurrection, Day of Atonement, Judgement of the Living and the Close of Probation have always gained the interest of Adventist Christians.  Hopefully your study of this website and reading of Pastor Bryson’s sermon booklet will ignite a greater love for Christ and the desire to see Him return to finish the Conflict of the Ages which has been at the center of history for nearly six millenniums.

Using the Bible

The Bible at times seems complex, but it’s not meant to be.  The timeline, “Time, Times, and Half a Time” found in Daniel 12:7 comes to us from the Hebrew word mow-ed מוֹעֵד or mow-edim מוֹעֵדים (plural) which means “appointed time(s)” in contrast to the similar term found in Daniel 7:25 which is written in the Aramaic ‘iddan עִדָּן and literally means “regular time”.  As you read through Pastor Bryson’s study of Daniel 12 located on this web page and which you can download and read you will see the major difference in these two terms and begin to understand why there was so much confusion as to these timelines in Daniel 12.

Illustrated Prophetic Calendar of Israel. Passover, Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Feast of Trumpets, Feast of Tabernacles

Jesus literally fulfilled the Spring Feasts or Appointed Times through His death on the cross, Resurrection and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the church.  The Fall Feasts or Appointed Times will be fulfilled literally on those feast days the final warning trumpets, the final Day of Atonement and the Second Coming on a Feast of Tabernacles.

About Pastor Bryson

Pastor Bryson began his journey with Daniel 12 when he was only 13 years old.  It stumped him that the chapter seemed to be dealing with the final time of trouble before the Lord’s return lasting for another 1,260 years and that seemed impossible to his mind.  Thus began his research to answer the question and as he searched over the next thirty years he found scholars and authors seemed to evade an exact answer, it was almost like there was an elephant standing in the middle of Bible Prophecy that no one wanted to talk about and the longer it stood there it began to turn pink as it were to say.

Coronavirus

With the outbreak of the Coronavirus or COVID-19 and Social Distancing our society is on a whole new track. Prophetically speaking this matches the description spoken by Jesus found in Matthew 24:7, 8 where He said, “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in …
